Personal Leadership and Talent Development
A A A
People join a company and leave a boss”

Preserving talent is as much an art as developing talent is. Due to reorganizations and a fast moving market people are placed in new and demanding positions much earlier in their career.
Instead of seniority it is now talent that is more and more the reason for giving someone a demanding position. This makes the role of manager shift from one of hierarchical superiority to mentoring, nurturing and developing talent on one hand and inspiring talent and binding it to the organization on the other. For an organization this means: accelerated development of talent that is retained for the organization.
The task is to make employees feel connected with their boss and the organization, to make them feel supported and encouraged. The first step is to teach managers to understand themselves and others better so they are capable of making a connection on a more individual, personal level. Because many of the current managers still stem from the seniority structure, it demands an effort from them to link up with the younger generation. People look for more than a job, the manager has the task to connect members of a team and guide them in their development.
